Community Surf Days and Outreach

Our founders, Aina and Chyna, are lifelong friends who have been a part of the surfing world for many years. Their love for the ocean and ancient art of surfing is contagious and they want to ensure the local community benefits from the natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands as much as they have. It’s with this mindset that they created community outreach programs like community surf day! The first inaugural community surf day was held in April of 2018, and they have continued monthly ever since. On these special days, our staff volunteers their time to offer free lessons and board rentals to locals who are interested in learning more about surfing. Our goal is to introduce people to surfing and to educate them on the importance of protecting the coral reefs and oceans in general. On top of the free surfing opportunities, we also participate in beach clean ups and education programs that promote reef safe sunscreens and the elimination of single use plastic; all vital elements of preserving the health of our world’s precious oceans.
