More About Our Surf School in Lahaina, HI

We are a small locally owned surf school that takes pride in teaching lessons with aloha. Once at our shop, you will be surrounded by people who are knowledgeable about the ancient art of surfing as well as love and cherish the Kai (ocean), the Aina (land) and the deep connection we feel to both. LahAina Surf Shack is owned and operated by a local female firefighter and former professional athlete /surfing enthusiast who grew up right in Lahaina town. Her deep roots in the community make her creation, the LahAina Surf Shack, one of a kind. We are the only surf school to offer after-school surfing programs and summer surf camps to local kids and visitors alike. All our instructors are involved with our kids’ programs, which makes them expert teachers for young and old alike. We take teaching surfing seriously, while also making sure to have the most fun in the water. You’ll leave our classes with a solid basic understanding of surfing and the rules of the water. Our instructors are all CPR certified for your safety, so you can rest assure your training won’t be dangerous. So come learn, come laugh and come love surfing with us!
